Join with us in celebrating 25 years of death, taxes and other cheery concerns, as Alan Barr and Sandra Eden return with their silver anniversary edition of this popular seminar for those dealing with the miseries that life and death can bring.

An EU referendum and a Scottish election have come and gone, with little direct effect (yet) on estate planning and related tax matters. But developments have continued apace in relation to inheritance tax, capital gains tax and other UK concerns. Meanwhile, Scottish-specific developments have expanded with new announcements on income tax and (especially) LBTT, with some interesting effects for trusts and executries; and the Scottish courts have pitched in with further important cases on executries, trusts and related concerns. This seminar will review statute and case law, as well as other material emanating from HMRC, Revenue Scotland and other bodies.

This seminar is a vital review and preview for anyone working in this area – comprehensive coverage with detailed materials. Knowledge and experience, delivered with a light touch. Do join us as we move into our second quarter century!

Alan Barr is Honorary Fellow at the School of Law, University of Edinburgh and a partner at Brodies LLP. Sandra Eden is Senior Lecturer at the School of Law, University of Edinburgh.
